Day 8 of 31 Days of Simple Praise to Yahweh

no pictures today --I was too busy teaching to film the fun!

Geography Day!  A bunch of us got together and "built the USA" from yarn

First the contiguous states and then over there Alaska and Hawaii  and over yonder in the Pacific Ocean 12 of the territories the US owns  [We put Puerto Rico and Am Virgin Islands in the Atlantic Ocean]

We installed the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains  The Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers and the great lakes, made sure we had the elbow in California and the hook for the Puget Sound without forgetting the Mississippi River Delta.  Created our own archipelago and discussed why the US would want to own many rocky barren islands in the Pacific Ocean....answer we wanted to collect the bird poop   er...... guano as a usable fuel!

Through out one of the things I like best is seeing kids and grown ups working together ~~ all ages learning stuff and having fun at the same time!

Our final fun was to put little markers of red yarn in some of the interesting places we know.  I think we could have done that for another 1/2 hour!
